Spokane, WA -- (SBWire) -- 12/02/2014 --As many as 10 Universal Funding employees have signed up to volunteer for the 15th Annual undertaking of Tom's Turkey Drive. The Turkey Drive was created by Tom Sherry, a local weatherman whose mission is to ensure that every family in Spokane County has a filling Thanksgiving dinner. Last year over 11,000 Thanksgiving meals were distributed, and Universal Funding employees are committing their time to make sure as many meals are available in 2014.

The primary collection days are November 21st and 22nd at all Spokane area Rosauers grocery stores and volunteers work in 2 hour and 15 minute shifts promoting the Turkey Drive, handing out fliers, encouraging donations, and loading donations. Supporters are encouraged to purchase a $20 bag of food to donate. Tuesday November 25th is the distribution night at the Spokane area. This night affords another volunteer opportunity where people have signed up to help with check-in, line control, parking assistance, food distribution, and clean-up. A group of 10 Universal Funding employees have signed up to solicit donations at the South Hill Rosauers located on 14th & Monroe on Saturday, November 22.

"It's inspiring to have almost ½ of our office volunteer for the turkey drive this year," states Universal's Charitable Giving Chair and Principal, Monica Wozow. "Our team makes it such an upbeat experience and has a fun time getting others in the community to donate for the drive."
