London, UK -- (SBWire) -- 12/23/2014 --The Carole King musical, Beautiful, will expand to London's Aldwych Theatre beginning February 10, 2015. An all-new cast will star in the musical, including actress and singer Katie Brayben who will play the legendary hit-making songwriter. In addition, King's former husband Gerry Goffin will be portrayed by Alan Morrissey, while songwriters Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann will be played by Lorna Want and Ian McIntosh, respectively.

Beautiful is a song-packed production that focuses on the early life and career of Carole King. It depicts her childhood passion for selling songs, leading up to her work with some of the most important songwriters of the time. Her marriage to Goffin and career path leading up to the recording of her famed album, Tapestry, are included in the story.

Many of King's hit songs are performed during the production. These include It's Too Late, So Far Away, (You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman, Chains, Some Kind of Wonderful, You've Got a Friend, Pleasant Valley Sunday, One Fine Day, The Locomotion, and many more. Some of the songs in the play were hits for Carole; others are a sample of the many hits she wrote for other artists.

The Carole King musical will begin its run on the West End in February 2015. It has run for nearly a year on Broadway, and will also kick off a North American tour in 2015, stopping at several major U.S. cities along the way.
