13th International Symposium on Assessment of Learning Launches May 31-June 4, 2015

Is Higher Education value for money? To answer that question, we need to know how, when and where students learn. The Institute for Learning in Higher Education (LiHE) invites scholars working with assessment of learning in higher education to participate in a productive and inspiring symposium on the beautiful island of Aegina, Greece, to learn more.

Aegina, Greece -- (SBWire) -- 01/09/2015 --The 13th international symposium takes place on May 31-June 4, 2015.The goal of the upcoming LiHE symposium is the writing of a book on "Assessment of Learning in Higher Education" to be published by Libri Publishing Ltd, Oxfordshire, UK and distributed worldwide.

Scholars interested in contributing to the book and symposium can submit their 2000 word chapter proposal to LiHE no later than February 16, 2015. The editors are looking for book chapters that show innovative examples of assessment of learning in higher education.

The chapter proposals will be reviewed and assessed based on the following criteria:

-Does the chapter show a clear example of the assessment of learning in higher education?

-Is the chapter grounded in contemporary theory of both assessment as it relates to learning?

-Does the chapter demonstrate how assessment enhances student learning?

-Is the submission clear, compelling and concise, and is it written keeping the readers in mind?
