Westminster, CO -- (SBWire) -- 01/12/2015 --In November 2014 the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published its final regulations to implement the menu and vending labeling provisions of the Affordable Care Act. Jenn Brusco, TraceGains' Director of Media and Content explained in a company blog that the menu labeling regulation will require chain restaurant, food retail, and other similar establishments with 20 or more units serving restaurant-type food to post calories on the menu or menu board (or if no menu/menu board, information must be provided through another on-site means) and provide additional nutrition information upon request. Outlets have until December 1, 2015 to comply with this regulation, providing time to aggregate information and cycle it in during regular menu or menu board updates.

Food policy and regulation expert Beth Johnson, MS, RD, of the DC advisory firm Food Directions, LLC advised that, "given the abundance of information required and the necessary changes needed, organizations should begin preparing now."
