Michael Daly was born Michael John Christopher Daly in Bronx, New York City, as the first son of five children to his Irish Immigrant parents. As a boy, his knack for soprano singing was quickly discovered by his parents who then urged him to perform at events in school, church and around NYC. In his childhood, Michael Daly's parents made sacrifices so he could build his skills as a musician.

Michael pays tribute to his family's sacrifices now by honoring their Irish heritage through his deep appreciation for music, especially Irish and American folk songs. As a student at Cornell University, he played a part in the Cornell Men's Glee Club as a participating member and soloist.
