Carlton, VIC -- (SBWire) -- 01/15/2015 --Pet pampering and other premium services should see a further boost in revenues in the upcoming year, says pet housing retailer Coops And Cages™. The Melbourne-based company bases predictions on the 2014 performance trend in the pet industry, which has seen record sales in the last few years. Apparently, Australians love to spoil their doggies and moggies. Pet pampering has been the fastest growing pet service industry in the country since the first half of the previous year. Among the services with the fastest growing demand are dog walking, pet boarding and animal grooming.

Online business marketplace Oneflare showed in a report that Australia has been pampering her pets more than ever last year. The service with the highest growth was dog training, with a demand spurt of 981.82 percent, followed by dog walking with 443.14 percent, pet boarding with 441 percent and grooming with 264 percent. Most owners and managers in the pet business have noted with interest the high uptake of pet pampering services, most of which are traffic coming through online listings of such pet facilities. The ever-increasing use of social networks may have contributed to the ease of and the resulting increase in business through the internet. However, the ongoing trend of humanising pets by pet-owning households remains the primary contributing factor to the unprecedented growth of the pet industry. The industry has thrived slowly but surely despite economic downturns in recent years.

Another novel pet pampering service on the rise is the option to order takeaway meals for pets, which are delivered along with regular customers' food orders. At least eight restaurants in Sydney have begun extending the service, called Doggy Bags, to customers' pets through the online takeaway service, Delivery Hero. The participating restaurants' chefs prepare these gourmet pet meals, which are deemed to be nutritionally balanced and minimally seasoned. The Doggy Bags come in 440-ml and 770-ml sizes and cost from AUD 4 to AUD 9. The pet takeaway service is yet another testimony to Australians' growing demand for premium pet products and services.
