In Pursuit of Curiosity: A Lewis Carroll Nonsense Poem Comes to Life on Film

London, England -- (SBWire) -- 02/10/2015 --From the writer of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass," the captivating and intriguing brilliance of Lewis Carroll comes to life once again in the new animated film adaptation of his nonsense poem, The Hunting of the Snark.

The stop- motion animation movie tells a fictional and fulfilling story about a group of strangers who's only chance at coming together is caused by a mythical creature. In pursuit of curiosity, the strangers gather together to hunt down "The Snark" and in hopes of capturing the myth with their own hands. However, coming together will not be the hardest part of their challenge. In typical life fashion, none of the strangers know what the Snark looks like, or even know how to catch it if they do come across the creature. Without any clue, except for a few hunches, the hunt is led by Bellman (voiced by Joerg Stadler from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Saving Private Ryan) who hopes that the Hunting of the Snark will be an adventure that will end up in success and not a false end. Will the group be victorious and able to hunt down the legend? Or will their mission lead them into a nonsensical corner only to find out that the Snark is simply just that - a myth?

Director and Screenwriter, Saranne Bensusan, shot the film in stop-motion animation, and does a brilliant job at bringing a rustic charm to the final words of Lewis Carroll and also life to the quirky characters on their journey into the unknown. Cast includes actors such as Andrew Sellon, Lawrence Mallinson, Shiraz Khan, J.P. Turner, Nigel Osner, along with many talented others. The animated film, The Hunting of the Snark, will be premiering at the 68th Cannes Film Festival on May 20th at the Gray D'Albion
