Melbourne, Australia -- (SBWire) -- 02/20/2015 --The breakthrough Advanced Muscle Integration Technique (AMIT) used to treat joint and soft tissue injuries is now available in Australia for the first time! The AMIT technique offers patients the amazing possibility of being free of the pain of an ankle sprain or similar injury in a few hours rather than a few weeks.

Melbourne Chiropractor, Dr Tyson Aldenhoven has become the only person in Australia who has studied for Certification in the AMIT method (and is only the second person anywhere in the World outside of the United States to do so).

Dr Aldenhoven, is pleased to announce that he will be offering the exciting and groundbreaking AMIT method to treat joint and soft tissue injuries at his Melbourne clinic, Lygon Chiropractic.

Tyson says, "It has been pretty tough traveling to the USA so many times over the past year for the AMIT certification course but I really believe that this treatment method will revolutionize sports chiropractic.

It will be of tremendous benefit to any of my patients who experience pain during physical activity and in particular, to local sports people, giving them a competitive advantage, helping them overcome injury faster and more completely."

Origins of AMIT

The AMIT method evolved out of the work of Dr. Alan Beardall, DC, with the Utah Jazz basketball team over a 26-year period, during which time he perfected techniques for dealing with acute injuries and the types of chronic injury that had previously been so difficult to treat.

He published a series of Clinical Kinesiology manuals detailing each reflex point and muscle test for all the muscle divisions. His CK work forms the base for the Advanced Muscle Integration Technique, enabling the speedy resolution of acute and chronic injuries, improved performance and lower rates of injury. Dr Craig Buhler DC further evolved the technique into the current AMIT method.

The Benefits of Advanced Muscle Integration Technique

Injuries often get better by themselves over time but many people are unaware that although the pain has gone, the injury has resulted in a functional imbalance.

For example, if the left ankle is sprained, causing pain, the nervous system effectively shuts off the affected muscles to prevent further damage; So the body tries to adapt by using other muscles and to compensate and protect the injury by carrying more weight on the right leg.

Surprisingly, long after the injured ankle is no longer giving trouble, the body will still be carrying more weight on the right leg, causing an imbalance. The person will have a false sense of wellbeing, not realizing that the compensating right leg is now more likely to pick up an injury in the future.

Prolonging Sporting Careers

Chronic injuries that just keep coming back and sidelining athletes is the number one reason why anyone participating in sport whether as a Professional player or a 'Saturday warrior', eventually 'throws in the towel'.

The AMIT method can help to prolong sporting careers by enabling joints and muscles to function optimally and pain-free. It also gives an edge to Athletes at every level by enabling them to access more of their muscles without the need to compensate for injured ones.
