Detroit, MI -- (SBWire) -- 03/03/2015 --U.S. audiences will have a rare opportunity to see two a performance created by two generations of Russian ballet stars if Metro Detroit-based Producer Laura Lee successfully raises $38,000 in a Kickstarter campaign.

Vladislav Lantratov, principal dancer of the world renowned Bolshoi Ballet will be the star attraction of a tour directed by his father, Valery Lantratov, former principal dancer of the Moscow Stanislavsky and Kremlin Ballets and guest artist on tours with the Bolshoi. Lantratov, senior holds Russia's highest artistic honor, the title People's Artist of Russia and was one of eight dancers personally selected by Rudolf Nureyev for his farewell tour. He has directed numerous international tours to rave reviews.

The two Lantratovs have worked together professionally only once, when ten-year-old Vlad Lantratov danced the role of Napoleon as a child to his father's General Napoleon for the Kremlin Ballet. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for American audiences to see the work of the two Lantratovs on one stage.

For more than a decade, Valery Lantratov and Laura Lee have been working together to produce a coast to coast ballet master class tour. Through this project, Lantratov has taught students in 41 states. Lantratov's Russian National Ballet Foundation has a mission of spreading appreciation for classical Russian arts and culture throughout the world.

As is fitting for a program created by a father and son team, the gala will have a family theme and will feature excerpts from ballets based on folklore, mythology, fairy tales and children's literature. It will feature top tier Russian artists.

"No matter what might happen between the countries in the world," Valery Lantratov says, "dance can deliver peace, compassion and art—eternal values."

The biggest obstacle the team faces in launching this gala is the upfront cost of airfare and visa processing. Other financial constraints include technical show prep, rental for marley flooring and ballet barres, tour bus rental, and the creation of promotional materials and merchandise. The project will only be funded if at least $38,000 is pledged by April 1, 2015.
