Birmingham, AL -- (SBWire) -- 03/12/2015 --Birmingham attorneys Jim Parkman and William White announce the formation of Parkman White, LLP, with law offices in Birmingham and Dothan, Alabama.  The partners have represented clients for more than a decade and were formerly known as Parkman & White, LLC.  The new name comes as they expand the firm's traditional offerings from white-collar defense and investigations, criminal defense, DUI defense and divorce.  In addition to these practice areas, the firm has added attorneys capable of representing clients in civil litigation, bankruptcy, probate and immigration.

The name change also represents an anticipation of adding partners in the years to come.  "The former name made it sound as if our firm consisted of only two attorneys when in fact, our firm employs 7 attorneys and numerous support staff.  We have the man power to handle the most complex criminal and civil litigation and have some excellent attorneys we expect will reach partnership status in the near future," stated Parkman White, LLP lead trial attorney Jim Parkman.

Jim Parkman and William White are most widely known for their high profile white collar criminal representation of Richard Scrushy, the former CEO of HealthSouth in his acquittal of dozens of mail fraud and money laundering charges in Federal Court in Birmingham, as well as their representation of a prominent State Senator who was found not guilty of bribery related to the federal "BINGO" trials of 2011 and 2012 in Montgomery, Alabama.  They are expected to maintain their focus on white collar and traditional criminal defense while other firm members focus on the new practice areas.
