Costa Mesa, CA -- (SBWire) -- 03/12/2015 --Innovative Results Gym (IR), Orange County's Fitness Playground , hosted the 2015 California Open Kettlebell Championship on February 28th and March 1st. Organized by Orange Kettlebell Club (OKC), this was the biggest international Kettlebell Sport competition in the United States. One hundred and fifty athletes participated in 200 competitive lifts. As IR Co-Owner Corey Beasley points out, "To have the opportunity to have some of the best kettlebell competitors in the whole world at our facility is very humbling." IR was also proud to support its own lifters who made outstanding performances.

Costa Mesa music teacher Eric Berringer competed in Men's Biathlon on Saturday in the 78kg weight class. With his combined jerk and snatch repetitions, Berringer placed first and achieved Rank 1. Long Beach resident Harrel Carman achieved his fifth-straight 1st place win in Men's Long Cycle and also reached Rank 2. He competed in the 85kg weight class with two 28kg kettlebells. Irvine teacher Margaret Fajardo achieved Rank 2 in Women's Long Cycle in the 63kg weight class. Lifting 92 reps with a 12kg kettlebell, Fajardo set a personal record.

IR Co-Owner and Head Coach Aaron Guyett exceeded expectations in his first showing in Men's Professional Long Cycle. In 2014, he set the American Record in Men's Amateur Biathlon. At this year's competition, Guyett yielded an impressive 53 reps with two 32kg kettlebells in the 85kg weight class. Not only did he place 2nd in the category, but as the highest USA coefficient lifter, Guyett will also have the chance to represent the United States at the IUKL World Championship in Ireland. Guyett's road to the Worlds begins in Chicago on August 1st when he competes at the USA National Championship.

With such a strong showing at this year's Cali Open, Innovative Results (IR) and the IR Kettlebell team are making an impact in one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S.
