New Delhi, India -- (SBWire) -- 03/17/2015 --The International Trade Council (ITC) announced today the appointment of Dr. Sandeep Gupta as the organisation's Chairperson in India.

He is the Joint Managing Director of M/s Richa Industries Limited and is a certified Corporate Director from the World Council for Corporate Governance.  Under his leadership, he led Richa through a period of tremendous growth from 70 employees in 1999 to 1000 employees as of 2015, scaling the company to a turnover of INR 3000 million. In more than 14 years of experience in the textile and garment industry, Dr. Gupta's accomplishments include the successful management of the Initial Public Offer of Richa Knits Limited in 2006 for INR 270 million which established the company as one of the largest players in the textile industry in India.

As CEO of Richa's new textile unit at IMT Manesar, Gurgaon, Dr Gupta was responsible for taking the company along a trajectory of growth to gross 200 million in 2004, two years of taking over the leadership.  Dr. Gupta also initiated M/s Richa Industries' strategic journey from textiles to Pre Engineered Buildings, Turnkey Solutions and structural steel.

Dr. Gupta is a Doctor of Philosophy in Management and an MBS from the University of Bhartiya Vidyapeeth. He has been conferred the FCCI Excellence Award for outstanding SME Entrepreneur and is an active member of the All India Management Association (AIMA).  Dr. Gupta is also an active governing body member of the Faridabad Chamber of Commerce and a former governing body member of the Haryana Environmental Management Society.

The ITC has over 150 registered members in India.
