Houston, TX -- (SBWire) -- 03/30/2015 --Houston has become home for another renowned doctor recently as Eye Care Associates announced that Dr. Sylvie El Hage will be joining the practice and bringing her unique brand of patient-centered expertise to Houston.

Dr. El Hage is a Doctor of Optometry, obtaining her doctorate from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from University of Houston, and she completed her externships at some of the top ocular disease treatment and surgical centers, including the Salisbury VA in North Carolina, and Clayton Eye Center in Georgia.

She has received extensive clinical training in all areas of optometry, including primary care, pediatrics, ocular emergencies, red eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, retinal disease, and specialty contact lens fitting. Dr. Sylvie also volunteers in activities aimed at serving medically underserved populations. She recently went on a mission trip to Peru, with the aim of providing optometric services to a geographically isolated population in the rural areas of Cuzco. " I love helping those who normally may not be able to have proper care otherwise," Dr. El Hage says, "and this trip (to Peru) was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had, and I intend to continue my work serving this population in the future."
