London, UK -- (SBWire) -- 04/01/2015 --According to recent research published by the Association of Graduate Recruiters and High Fliers Research, graduate job positions are predicted to rise by as much 11.9% in 2015, which is more than 2013 and 2014 combined. For students contemplating higher education in the current economic climate, the decision is not an easy one given the steep costs just to enrol each year. The one thing they need to be guaranteed is that having a degree actually increases their employability status, otherwise it would be hard for them to see the point of investing the time and money rather than seeking employment straight from school.

In 2009, for example, graduate vacancies dipped as far down as 17.8%, then after rises in 2010 and 2011, it dropped by 0.8% again. When in 2014 vacancies were increased by 8.7%, it proved to be the biggest increase in graduate employment in 7 years and will hopefully begin to reassure students about their potential for being hired into a graduate placement.

Martin Birchall, High Fliers Research's Managing Director, commented that "Graduate recruitment at Britain's top employers is this year set to reach its highest level...and starting salaries are on the rise, too."Whilst the highest rises in graduate employment are in the IT and telecommunications fields, Birchall commented that the diversity of fields does not stop there:"There are also more graduate jobs at leading retailers, consumer-goods companies, consultancy firms, media companies, engineering and industrial firms, and in banking and finance".
