103 years ago a ship steamed into the Chelsea area of Manhattan ending a voyage for over 700 survivors of the unsinkable ship -- Titanic.

New York, NY -- (SBWire) -- 04/17/2015 --On a rainy night back on April 18th 1912 the survivors of the Titanic arrived in NYC's harbor aboard the rescue ship Carpathia. Steaming its way through the Hudson to its final destination -- Pier 54 (in the Chelsea area of Manhattan) over 700 weary and exhausted survivors of the Titanic stepped down the Carpathia's gangplanks onto the pier -- finally ending their horrific ordeal.

Pete and Stew Kandel (known as Dr. Pete and Dr. Stew, noted paranormal investigators and licensed NYC tour guides aka New York's own Ghost Doctors) wants to mark that date by standing in the vicinity of the same pier 103 years later in order to experience what it must have felt like to witness the return of the Titanic's survivors when they finally touched on terra firma.

According to the Ghost Doctors the Carpathia was a steamship of British Registry which made its historic rescue upon hearing the distress calls from the Titanic.

"Even steaming ahead at full throttle to cover a distance of 58 nautical miles from the Titanic's last reported position -- they arrived too late, the ship was gone. Luckily, they were able to rescue over 700 passengers who were scattered about the waters in their lifeboats where the Titanic went down," says Dr. Stew.

After 3 days of rough seas, the Carpathia finally arrived in New York. Tens of thousands awaited the arrival of this rescue ship. When the survivors finally disembarked on that rainy night 103 years ago, it was said that the expression of grief from the awaiting crowds was overwhelming, according to the Ghost Doctors
