Mother Lode Sports Launches New Events for Endurance Athletes

Endurance athletes continue to look for new challenges and these events will fulfill their needs, reports MotherLodeSports.com

Arnold, CA -- (SBWire) -- 04/21/2015 --Endurance athletes continue to search for new challenges and Mother Lode Sports has answered this call. The company recently announced the launch of the Triple Crown Challenge, a three part endurance event to be held over three weekends in September, which includes Ultra cycling in Northern California along with a marathon and adventure challenge race. This is one of several events the company plans to hold this year.

"The Triple Crown Challenge will test even the toughest of endurance athletes and numerous prizes will be based on performance. The Mother Lode Marathon takes place on September 6, 2015 and participants may choose from a 50K, marathon or half marathon route. The Tour de Mother Lode takes place six days later and covers 220 miles and 20,000' in elevation. To round out the challenge, the World''s Toughest Adventure Race Challenge happens on September 19, 2015 and includes a 70 mile MTB, 20 mile run and two mile swim in four lakes," Jon Faust, spokesperson for Mother Lode Sports, announces.

According to Active.com, men tend to favor triathlons more than women in America, with 63 percent of participants being male and 37 percent female. Men are also faster in these types of races, with professional male runners finishing 43 minutes ahead of professional female runners, on average. The time differential increases for those who aren't professionals, although it does vary by age group.

"Men and women alike may choose to take part in a Triathlon in Northern California, such as that seen in the Triple Crown Challenge. The event organizers recognize that men and women run at different speeds and plan to award prize money to the top competitor of each sex in this race. In addition, those who take part in all three challenges will have the opportunity to win additional prize money," Faust continues.

For those unwilling or unable to take part in one or more portions of the Triple Crown Challenge, Mother Lode Sports offers other endurance events. The Run the Rim 10K takes place on June 21, 2105 and will be followed up by a Father's Day BBQ. The BBQ is free of charge to race participants and supporters may choose to join in the meal for an additional fee. Others may opt to participate in the Rampage Run, an event still in the planning stages.

"Mother Lode Sports plans to add more events over the coming years, hoping to host 40 to 50 events each year in the near future. Endurance sports challenge participants, taking them further than they have ever been before. Begin training today as these events are a great deal of fun and the feeling of satisfaction one obtains when completing an event cannot be beat," Faust declares.
