Tidy Books Goes for Gold in Richard Branson's Virgin Media Business Competition

London, England -- (SBWire) -- 04/23/2015 --Walthamstow based business; Tidy Books is in the running to win Virgin's Media Business competition. Tidy Books, makers of children's bookcases, is looking for votes to help it get to the finals of Richard Branson's competition called Pitch to Rich. If Tidy Books wins, it will receive £250,000 worth of advertising to accelerate its growth, plus mentoring from the Virgin team. Voting is open now until 5th May 2015.

Tidy Books has won many awards for its wooden children's bookcases which encourage children to read, and grow their love of books. Local resident and Tidy Books' CEO Geraldine Grandidier wants to build on the company's success. Her vision is to see a Tidy Books bookcase in every child's bedroom. She is hugely enthusiastic about the opportunities for the company to grow if it wins the Virgin Media Business competition:

"I made the first bookcase for my daughter and started the business with £500 in my violin workshop. Now, Tidy Books is an international business, winning the Pitch to Rich competition would help us grow further and faster. The fantastic publicity and mentoring would develop what's brilliant about us, and take the company to a new level."

Richard Branson launched the Pitch to Rich 2015 competition in March and is offering £1million to help up to 10 British start up and young companies to grow and win new customers. The shortlisted companies will make their pitch to Richard Branson, who will decide on a winner in 3 categories: Start U, New Things and Grow. Tidy Books is entering the Grow category.

Tidy Book wants to get all children reading, and supports national literacy charity Beanstalk in a long term partnership. Beanstalk recruits, vets and trains reading volunteers who go into schools to read one to one with children who have fallen behind with their reading. As Tidy Books grows, it will give more support and cash to Beanstalk.

Geraldine Grandidier will also be raising money for the very poorest as part of the Live Below the Line campaign organised by The Hunger Project. Geraldine will be sponsored to live on £1 a day for 5 days to help end poverty from 27th April until 1st May this year.

The team at Tidy Books hopes friends and supporters in Waltham Forest will vote for the business and help them win the Virgin Media Business competition.
