Inverness, Highland -- (SBWire) -- 04/23/2015 --Between January 2013 and March 2015, 325,475 new BMWs were registered in the UK. In 2014, BMW was thefifth largest car seller in the UK and was the top seller of luxury cars.

Since 2013, sales have been steadily growing every month. In 2014, BMW sold nearly 20,000 more new cars than they did in 2013. This pattern of monthly growth looks set to continue in 2015. On average BMW dealers are already moving over 1,000 more units per month than they did in 2014.

Both the new and used car markets in the UK grew at the end of 2014 and that general growth in car sales is expected to continue. The majority of the growth at the start of 2014 occurred in the lower end of the new car market. It was not until the end of the year that sales of luxury cars started to take off. Sales of smaller cars took off earlier in the year than sales of luxury cars did.

Strong levels of new car registrations during 2013 will begin to translate into better availability of BMWs and other prestige cars for the used market during 2015 as owner's trade in their older vehicles. This will help used car dealers to meet the increasing demand they are seeing for second hand BMWs and other prestige cars. Buying a used BMW in Inverness and many other parts of the UK has not been easy because demand has outstripped supply for the past few months.

BMW have diversified their range and are continuing to do so. The fact that they have introduced more fuel-efficient vehicles has also helped to boost demand for their vehicles. Growth has come across the brand with the BMW 5 series seeing growth of 5.4% and sales of the 4 series increasing by 5%. There has been growth of around 3% across the rest of their range. The fact that people have more money in their pockets in the UK indicates that this strong growth in sales will continue through 2015.
