Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWire) -- 04/29/2015 --A new tradition began in Philadelphia in 2014, and various Mummers brigades got together during Mardi Gras week to put their performances on display. Changing from a 21-plus event, the parade moved from Northern Liberties to Manayunk and was geared toward entertaining the entire family. After the weather had delayed the event for a week, ADVENT Advertising produced the second annual Mummers Mardi Gras and were extremely proud of the turnout.

On a cold, brisk February afternoon, residents of Manayunk and the surrounding area flocked to Main Street to get a glimpse of the performance. There were a total of 17 string bands that performed, danced, and played instruments through the parade, and kept the party alive by playing and interacting in the local bars and retailers. It was a way to bring the community together with the ambiance and beauty of Manayunk, along with the sounds of the famous Philadelphia Mummers string bands.

As this year's event has passed with much success, the organizers from ADVENT Advertising are working on next year's Mardi Gras event. Their goal was to raise awareness and funds to keep Philadelphia's most renowned tradition alive. The 2015 event in Manayunk resulted in a variety of activities and communications between spectators and string bands. With the crowd and their willingness to help a great cause, the event raised more than the $17,000 goal, and they hope to raise that number in years to come.

Keep an eye out for details as they emerge for the 2016 event. ADVENT Advertising is always looking for sponsors to help make the Mardi Gras in Philly a success. There will be enhancements and more activities in years to come.
