Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWire) -- 05/11/2015 --Fox Chase Family Eye Care, a local Philadelphia optometric practice with a reputation in the community for thoughtful and innovative patient care, proudly announced that they will be carrying the new specialty SPECS4US frames for those with special needs.

Dr. Lance Dunoff of Fox Chase Family Eye Care comments, "The SPECS4US brand was born from the care and giving that characterizes a mother's love for her children. Here at Fox Chase Family Eye Care, we're happy to help our patients share in this by offering these unique frames."

SPECS4US was founded in 2004 by Maria Dellapina, a single mother of four children, one of whom has Down Syndrome, with more than 25 years of experience in the optical field. SPECS4US was created as the result of a fruitless two year search on the part of Dellapina for a frame that would properly fit her daughter with Down Syndrome. Dellapina's solution was to utilize her prior knowledge as an optician to design appropriately fitting frames that would meet the special fitting needs of her daughter and others like her.

In explaining how SPECS4US helps those with special needs, Dr. Dunoff comments, "For the Down Syndrome community, SPECS4US frames offer a quality of fit and comfort that far exceeds the standards of any other popular frame line currently offered in optometric offices. The innovative design enhances your child's ability to explore the world around him or her freely and clearly without the limitations placed on them by wearing glasses that are too big, uncomfortable and constantly slipping or falling off. The unique needs of the special needs community were at the forefront of our minds when we decided to begin carrying SPECS4US. These innovative glasses help us find solutions to the problems that use of regular eyeglasses entails for the Down Syndrome community." Unlike other frames, the bridge of SPECS4US frames are adjusted to fit on the unique features of the nose, and the temples are modified to keep slippage to a minimum when being worn.

SPECS4US come in multiple styles and colors, all of which are offered at Fox Chase Family Eye Care.
