Calgary, AB -- (SBWire) -- 05/20/2015 --The Stampede City Chorus is looking for new members to join its a-Capella chorus singing barbershop four-part style music! Since 1955, the men of this group have built great friendships, shared their love of singing with the province, the country and the rest of North America and are now accepting new members!

Rehearsals take place Wednesday's from 7:15-9:45pm at the Scarboro United Church (SW Calgary) and are open to the public! If you haven't done any singing recently, have just developed a passion for music, or have already experienced the joys of performing in a group, we want you! The chorus is a great way to learn to sing better, learn new music and enjoy the company of a great group of men. Guest night will take place on May 13th.

The chorus has developed an exciting history of being named the Top Chorus in the Evergreen District (western Canada and north west USA) four times, they hosted an International Convention for the society in 1993 that brought 11,500 singers to Calgary (which was the largest conference in Calgary at the time) and they've also hosted the Evergreen District Convention several times.

The hidden story of the Stampede Chorus is it's membership. One of our long term members, a veteran of the 2nd World War, celebrated his 93rd birthday this past month! We are in great need of new members to achieve sustainable growth of the Stampede Chorus.

For more information on the chorus, to attend a rehearsal or to join, please contact Allen Kessler.
