Bath, UK -- (SBWire) -- 06/09/2015 --Pro Auction is to auction off the contents of the former Crossgar-Pallas meat & poultry plant in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland 400 pieces of processing equipment will go under the hammer.

Pro Auction is pleased to announce a live auction sale to be held at Crossgar Meats Plant, Down Business Park, Belfast Road, Downpatrick BT30 9UP on the 24th June 2015 commencing at 10.30am.

The EEC approved plant will be sold piecemeal both from the rostrum and via online bidding at http://www.bidspotter.com

The former red meat plant and poultry processing facility was operated by Crossgar Foodservice, the sole all-Ireland distributor for 3663, supplying to restaurants, hospitals, schools and hotel groups, which was acquired by a subsidiary of US food group Sysco in July 2012 and subsequently renamed Crossgar Pallas following the restructure. Crossgar's products include poultry, meat, chilled, frozen, grocery and non-food items, sold around Ireland and Great Britain.

The auction features 400 lots of equipment from the leading suppliers of processing and packaging equipment to the meat and poultry industries. offering a wide variety of equipment to help processors produce a higher quality product while maximizing production efficiency and profit. In addition to the processing equipment there is a large number of quality stainless steel equipment purpose-manufactured for the meat and food industries including apron wash station, knee operated sinks, tabling and product transfer conveyors.

The equipment will be auctioned in catalogue order from 10.30am, a pre-view day has been arranged for the 23rd June, to allow prospective bidders a preview of the equipment prior to the auction, which will be live from the site and webcast over the internet, allowing bidders far and wide to participate in the event.

Mark Flynn, director at Pro Auctions, envisages strong interest in the sale from operators, meat cutting plants and farmers throughout Ireland and the UK, stating that the auction provides an opportunity for manufacturers in the industry to purchase machinery and equipment at a fraction of the new replacement cost.
