Jacksonville, FL -- (SBWire) -- 07/06/2015 --Karen Hornsby is quite a familiar name these days, thanks to ABC's popular reality series Rising Star. Following her successful stint with this acclaimed singing reality show, Karen got flooded with speaking and singing engagements around the country over the last few years. However, this project is not about a voice that can sell some records.

Karen Hornsby's life has never been a bed of roses. At the age of twenty, her car collided with a semi-trailer, causing the car to explode into flames. However, miraculously, Karen got saved with minimum impact. In 2005, her husband was diagnosed and treated for cancer, and in the same year her perfectly healthy two and a half year old little daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer. Karen's daughter has lost her vision, and currently she fights through multiple mobility issues and is unable to clearly communicate.

Karen has always been in high spirits in spite all odds she has been through over the years. "I have seen many victories, triumphs, and many miracles in the midst of my journey. It is now my mission to take these experiences and fix them to recordings and places them on stages as long as God grants this bird breath to sing. I will declare that . . . It's almost morning!" she says.

This fall, Karen is launching a new tour called "It's Almost Morning." The tour will be with an amazing concert, featuring stories and songs, special friends, and guest performers. Karen wants this tour to be at par with the headline-grabbing national tours in every aspect. However, in order to launch the tour as planned, Karen needs to raise $85,000. She has just launched a Kickstarter campaign with this goal. This project will only be funded if at least $85,000 is pledged by August 5, 2015.
