Takoma Park, MD -- (SBWire) -- 07/06/2015 --In the beginning of the year, the Takoma Park Seventh-day Adventist Church declared 2015 as the year of serving and since then the compassionate team of church leaders and attendees has continued to carry out their mission to serve the community of Takoma Park, Maryland through prayer, compassion and kindness. Continuing with the theme of the year, the Takoma Park Church will be hosting a community event on August 29 at 6pm to offer prayer and blessings/celebration for the families and children of the DC/Metropolitan area. Following on August 30 at 10 am, the Takoma Park Church will further host a Community Day event which will feature an Art Show, Music, Food, and Entertainment including a moon-bounce for the kids. Both events will be held at 6951 Carroll Ave, Takoma Park, MD 20912.

The local news has reported a trend of recent unfortunate community violence and unrest which has brought on an air of nihilism, in response the Takoma Park Church hopes that the upcoming events will engage the community and inspire fun and praise. Kindness and compassion towards one another and love are the foundation of a strong and prosperous community. The Church wants to create a positive and beneficial experience that will help to refocus the local community's attention on moving forward and rebuilding positive relationships.
