Topeka, KS -- (SBWire) -- 07/07/2015 --Alia Crandall, of Boise, Idaho was awarded the 2015 Bea Alley Commemorative Conference Scholarship Award at the AHNA 35th annual conference in Branson, Missouri June 12-17, 2015. This scholarship was named in honor of lifetime AHNA member, Bea Alley, an early leader in holistic nursing, and is intended to keep her memory alive. The scholarship allows students to take part in the wonderful opportunities at conference so that they may expand their holistic education.

About Alia
Alia Crandall is a senior nursing student at Boise State University. She has a passion for nursing research, which has led her into making holistic nursing research her focus because she believes it is what will allow holistic nursing to take root in mainstream nursing and medicine as an evidence-based approach. This passion has led her to present two posters in 2014, and recently complete a pilot study, which was presented as a poster at the 2015 AHNA annual conference. She is an exemplary student, having been on the Dean's Honors List, and is an active participant in the Student Nurses' Association at the university.
