Indianapolis, IN -- (SBWire) -- 07/14/2015 --System Integration News, sponsored by Bastian Solutions reported Marianne Barnes, the former master taster for Brown-Forman's Woodford Reserve brand has been named the master distiller at the former Old Taylor Distillery, which is being renovated, reported Louisville Business First. The Oldham County native will become the master distiller at the former Old Taylor Distillery near Frankfort, and she's being called the first woman in the state to be named master distiller in decades -- possibly since Prohibition, WDRB-TV reports. "It's been a fraternity for a long time," Barnes said. "Sorry guys, I'm moving in." She said the bourbon produced at the site will reflect the old distillery, and she hopes to start producing by the end of the year -- though the bourbon might not hit store shelves for four or five years. Barnes also said the distillery, which will be renamed soon, will produce gin as well, and the grounds could be open for tours by next spring. As Business First previously reported, Nicholasville-based Peristyle LLC is investing millions in the distillery's renovation.
