The theme of Nikoloz Khomasuridze’s upcoming film is the renowned Kartvelian historian & archeologist Ekvtime Takaishvili. The complete funding requirement for this project is $440,000.

Tbilisi, GA -- (SBWire) -- 07/23/2015 --A Kartvelian film director, writer, and producer Nikoloz Khomasuridze has graduated from the Los Angeles Film School. He is extremely passionate about history, legends, and myths. Nikoloz wants to bring alive a unique history and culture of his homeland Sakartvelo through his upcoming film - Ekvtime. Regardless of what it takes, it has become the mission of Nikoloz's life to complete his film about the legendary Kartvelian (Georgian) historian, archeologist and a national hero Ekvtime Takaishvili.

Nikoloz's historical and biographical film will revolve around Ekvtime Takaishvili and his beautiful wife, Nino Poltoratskaia. Ekvtime's homeland Sakartvelo was invaded by the Soviet Red Army in 1921. The Kartvelian government asked Ekvtime to take the entire important national treasury with him while he was leaving for his French exile. This huge collection was shipped to Marseille and was under Ekvtime Takaishvili`s supervision.

During 24 years of his emigration in France between 1921 and 1945, Ekvtime stood like a wall to protect the treasures and monuments of his homeland from many famous museums, private collectors, gangsters and German Nazis. Fighting all odds, he was able to bring back all these antique items back to his homeland Sakartvelo.

Nikoloz Khomasuridze believes that it is extremely important to create a great feature film that tells the true story of Ekvtime Takaishvili and sacrificed life. He has just started an Indiegogo campaign to raise $440,000 for the making of his film. Funds raised from Indiegogo will be used to cover all expenses, taxes and fees for film pre-production, production and also the film posters, DVD-s, postcards, flight tickets and the perks for the Indiegogo campaign supporters.
