The stylish hair and nail salon perfectly matches the community's ethos – blending luxury and relaxation. At Beachcombers, the vibe of a stylish city loft meets the laid-back atmosphere of the beach. With custom stylist stations built from 200-year-old reclaimed barn wood, it achieves an industrial beach theme perfect for this Midwestern community.

Its design transports visitors to the beach. An ombre painted wall in shades of soft aqua provides a sense of tranquility. Its palette features blues, grays and cream, evoking the sea, sky and sand. Vintage touches of gold and wood add luxurious accents.

"The design features all my favorite things in one place," says owner Chelsea Wickman. "I love vintage things, and the beach, water, and sand. There is just something about living near a body of water."

Wickman, who is from Painesville Township, began her career in Mentor 12 years ago. There, she established a clientele, who she hopes will follow her to Fairport Harbor.

"They've known me, and I've known them for so long! We've watched each others kids grow, job changes, and life," says Wickman.

She also looks forward to welcoming new customers. She specializes in hair cutting, although she can service any hair needs. She has attended extensive hair cutting academies in California and Texas. Her acumen extends to weddings as well. Wickman and a friend's traveling bridal business did 31 weddings last year alone and won the Knot's Best of Weddings.

"Independent contracting is definitely the way to go," Wickman explains. "The freedom to be your own boss is amazing. I manage all of my clients, products and supplies, and still have a wonderful life with my husband and two kids!"

Beachcombers will host a Grand Opening Celebration on July 18th at 2 PM. There will be giveaways, tasty treats, and bubbly. The salon is located at 213 High Street, Fairport Harbor.
