Open Avenue: A New Kind of Charity Is Coming

Directly donate to those that need you the most in your community.

Halifax, NS -- (SBWire) -- 07/28/2015 --Open Avenue is developing a new P2P (peer to peer) charity-app that allows donors to send electronic donations to individuals within the community. Donors can send gift cards in the form of groceries, clothing, books, coffee, or a night out to their recipients. For longer term investments, donors can also help pay for education, housing, or transportation costs. This project plans to launch in cities across North America and Europe this fall. Anyone who has a passion for helping others will be interested to see how this works.

The idea for Open Avenue was conceived a year ago by Dylan Smibert while completing a Master's program. "I wanted to do something to help improve the lives of those living in poverty and I wanted to do more than just spare a few coins." The donation process is simple, secure and takes no more than a few clicks to make a meaningful difference in someone's life.

"Sometimes it can feel like your charitable donations get lost in the system or become so diluted that they don't really have an impact on those you are trying to help." Open Avenue will change this.

Before the Open Avenue team can change the world, they need funding. "We're really excited to be launching our Indiegogo campaign", says Dylan. The profits will be used to cover the expenses related to becoming a registered charity. Their campaign launches on July 30th, and offers great rewards for every donation. Take a comprehensive look at what this groundbreaking project is all about.

And for those who cannot help with donations, they know how far a Facebook "Like" or "Share" can travel. Every little bit counts.
