Kansas City, MO -- (SBWire) -- 08/04/2015 --Is there anything more American than a good ole' hot dog?

The Hotel Phillips, Kansas City's most elegant Art Deco hotel, will celebrate "National Work Like A Dog Day" on August 5, 2015 by showing appreciation for those who do more than what is expected of them. On Wednesday, August 5th between 11:00am and 1:00pm, downtowners are invited to stop by Hotel Phillips for a complimentary hot dog and a smile – the perfect mid-week snack. This is the second consecutive year the Hotel Phillips has recognized and treated the hard working people of downtown Kansas City.

"When you hear the phrase 'Working like a Dog', you wouldn't normally think about hot dogs, but that's exactly the point," says Sandi Harkins, Director of Sales and Marketing at Hotel Phillips. "It's a fun way to remind people that their hard work is appreciated." Taking advantage of its location in the heart of downtown Kansas City, where many hard-working men and women take their lunch break, this is the perfect opportunity for the Hotel Phillips to give them a quick and free pick-me-up in honor of their work. A piano decorated by the hotel's 2014-2015 Artist in Residence, Madeline Gallucci, for Keys 4/4 Kids, will be on display and will accompany tastebuds with tasteful tunes throughout the lunch period.
