London, England -- (SBWire) -- 08/06/2015 --A recent survey in North America has found that LED lighting is amongst the most popular form of lighting for the general public, and is expected to have implications and parallels within the UK. The US is known for setting trends, so many across the pond will be looking across to see what the future of interior design and indoor lighting holds for them – and the recent survey sheds light on this.

The survey is conducted annually and is currently in its 7th year. 1,000 people participated and it was found that 65% had purchased LED lighting and 86% believed that at least one room in their home would benefit from smart lighting. The survey found that most people were attracted to LED lighting due to the longer lifespan of the bulb, the amount of light it produced and the affordability of it. 72% of survey respondents admitted they felt that LED lighting would replace traditional lighting in the future, and potentially serve greater functionality.
