The human papillomavirus (HPV) can, in some cases, cause extremely large anal warts. As Dr. Guttadauro and colleagues wrote in a study, "perianal giant condyloma acuminatum is a ... condition related to human papillomavirus infection and characterized by a ... cauliflower-like mass with an irregular warty surface localized in the anal region." (1) Dr. Guttadauro is from the Università degli Studi Milano-Bicocca in Milan, Italy. Dr. Jennifer Lowney wrote that anal warts "are a condition that affects the area around and inside the anus. They may also affect the skin of the genital area. They first appear as tiny spots or growths, perhaps as small as the head of a pin, and may grow quite large and cover the entire anal area. Usually, they do not cause pain or discomfort to afflicted individuals and patients may be unaware that the warts are present. Some patients will experience symptoms, such as itching, bleeding, mucus discharge and/or a feeling of a lump or mass in the anal area." (2) Dr. Lowney stressed that HPV, which causes anal warts is "considered a sexually transmitted disease (STD) … (but) … you do not have to have anal intercourse to develop anal warts." (2)

The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) recommends that individuals infected with HPV take Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin. The formula of these natural antiviral products was shown to reduce symptoms associated with HPV infection in two separate post-marketing studies that followed FDA guidelines.

The formula of Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD in two clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. The studies showed that the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR formula is effective against the HPV and other viruses. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs. Study authors wrote that, "individuals infected with the HPV…reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR." (3) The study authors also wrote that "we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms." (3)

Both products can be ordered online on the Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin websites, here:

Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses. To date, Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are the only natural antiviral products on the market with published clinical studies that support their claims.

How can you be sure that you have anal warts?

"Diagnosis is made by the doctor, who inspects skin around the anus and checks the anal canal with an anoscope (a short instrument inserted into the anus)." (2)

Are there treatments available against the HPV, which causes anal warts?

"There are no drugs approved against the HPV. Current treatments include procedures, such as cryotherapy, conization, and the Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP). These procedures use liquid nitrogen, a surgical knife (scalpel), a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser, or electrical current to remove the abnormal growths caused by the HPV. These growths include cells that harbor the active virus. The procedures do not target cells with the latent virus. Since they do not remove the latent virus, these procedures only produce a temporary remission." (3) In contrast, Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR were designed to target the latent HPV.

"We recommend that individuals infected with the HPV virus take Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin." - Greg Bennett, CBCD

The CBCD reminds the public that Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are not a cure. However, two clinical studies showed that their formula decreases symptoms in infected individuals. Specifically, the formula of Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin was shown to safely and effectively reduce HPV symptoms. Additionally, it was designed to help the immune system target the latent virus.
