APEX Movement Launches an Exciting New Corporate Team Building Program

Since 2006, APEX Movement, a collection of Colorado-based parkour gyms, has been steadily growing in popularity. APEX has become synonymous in the Colorado community with a unique and innovative way to move outside of the confines of a typical gym workout. APEX is proud to introduce an uplifting and unique Corporate Team Building program designed to shake up normal routines to accelerate team growth and cohesion.

Boulder, CO -- (SBWire) -- 08/31/2015 --Traditional team building events often fall victim to a standard routine: a group gathering out of the office that offers a quasi-fun activity and a few bland drinks. In order to break from this stale practice and add some freshness to the way employees of a corporate team interact with each other, APEX Movement is introducing a new Corporate Team Building program. Justin Sikkema, General Manager and Co-Owner of APEX Movement, says: "Our goal is to take these teams just far enough out of their comfort zones to unlock some of the great emotions that don't come up in daily office life. Teams leave tired, happy, and bonded over experiencing this new sport together."

Parkour has begun to take the world by storm, creeping into video games, movies, social media feeds, and public parks with with its wildly impressive array of urban gymnastics. Parkour offers a new/old way to approach fitness. APEX encourages people to rediscover the creative, natural movement that we all loved when we were young - whether it was jumping off swings, climbing trees, or hopping over cracks in the sidewalk.

The mission behind the team-building program is to encourage team members to help each other find their way through new and unique obstacles. This encourages teams to get out of their comfort zone and embrace a fast-paced environment. "The Metro-Denver, Boulder, and Ft. Collins areas are full of great companies that know the value of spending time together outside of the office. Coming out to one of the APEX gyms and experiencing something totally new is a great way to fast-track team building." Sikkema says.

This two-hour session begins with a brief history of parkour, safety discussion, and warm up, and then turns to an obstacle course (with modifications for teams members of every activity level). The event also includes some great photographs of the team in action, and with the instructors. After the parkour event, the team heads to a local neighborhood brewery to share some free craft beers and continue team-building conversations. Special packages can also be custom built to suit each different team's specific needs.

Although there may be reservations about parkour regarding a necessary level of fitness, people of all abilities can rest assured that it is completely safe. The gyms are controlled environments, the routines can be easily modified, and the instructors are fully certified and first-aid trained. The team will be challenged and pushed to their limits, while kept safe and having fun. Sikkema shares, "We are so excited to introduce a new way for adults to get involved in parkour. Despite how it may seem from an outsider's perspective, parkour is not an elitist sport for a select few trained athletes. Parkour is actually really approachable and FUN for everyone."
