Worcester Wreaths Makes Ready for Christmas Season and 2015 Wreaths Across America

Company shifts into high gear as demanding season approaches, lines up to assist with another important Wreaths Across America event to honor veterans, Worcester Wreaths reports

Harrington, ME -- (SBWire) -- 09/02/2015 --Worcester Wreaths, one of the country's top producers of natural balsam Christmas Wreaths and other balsam products, announced that the company has begun gearing up for the busy holiday season and the 2015 Wreaths Across America event. Having grown greatly from its 1992 origins when Worcester Wreaths placed balsam wreaths at graves at an older, neglected part of Arlington National Cemetery, the annual Wreaths Across America event now includes similar efforts at locations all around the country. Those interested in donating to the 2015 installment of the charitable event can do so now at the Wreaths Across America website.

"With fall just around the corner, our work here is now stepping into overdrive," Worcester Wreaths founder and owner Mike Worcester said, "That means ensuring that our privately managed, 4,000-acre balsam fir forest is in prime shape for the upcoming Christmas season. It also means working with the wonderful people at Wreaths Across America to make sure that their important work will go off without a hitch this Christmas."

Since its opening at the end of the Civil War, Arlington National Cemetery has served as a final resting place for hundreds of thousands of American veterans who were killed in combat. Visiting on a trip he won as a twelve-year-old paper boy from Maine, Worcester Wreaths founder Mike Worcester was awed at the sight of the cemetery, one that impressed upon him deeply the magnitude of the sacrifices so many veterans had made to keep America safe and free.

In 1992, Worcester found himself in a position to honor those sacrifices in a special way, enlisting the help of Maine's Senator Olympia Snowe to lay balsam Worcester Wreaths in part of Arlington National Cemetery where the age of the graves meant that they received few visitors. Over the years, that initial effort grew far past the boundaries of Arlington National, with the 2007 incorporation of the Wreaths Across America organization creating an independent entity that now works with sponsors, donors, and volunteers to put down wreaths in all 50 states and elsewhere in the world.

In addition to laying the foundations for this important annual event, Worcester Wreaths is also one of the world's leading producers of fully sustainable, natural balsam christmas wreaths and other balsam products. The only balsam wreath producer in the country to drawn solely from its own, private balsam fir forest, the company harvests the tips of tree branches to produce a wide range of beautiful seasonal gifts and decorations. This approach ensures that the firs remain healthy and regenerate fully after three years.

With fall almost here, Worcester Wreaths has stepped up its efforts, preparing for the always-intense Christmas season to come. Those interested in what the company has to offer can learn more about its products and place orders at the Worcester Wreaths website. Donations to Wreaths Across America can be made at WreathsAcrossAmerica.org, where more information about the history and work of the non-profit can also be found.
