Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWire) -- 09/08/2015 --This year the world was shocked when on August 26, 2015, a news reporter, and photojournalist were shot dead while conducting a live interview. Like so many people who have been subjected to gun violence, Alison Parker, and Adam Ward, who were employees of CBS affiliate WDBJ in Roanoke, Virginia, USA was innocent victims. The incident shocked the world, and now a new crowdfunding campaign has been launched to try and combat gun violence.

Robert L McCuiston, a popular businessman in America, launched the campaign, which he hopes will raise $850k. The aim of the campaign is to honor Alison Parker and Adam Ward memory by raising money to support people who have lost loved ones to gun crime. The campaign also hopes to send a message that gun crime needs to stop, and gun reforms need to take place.

Robert L McCuiston said: "It is time now that politicians stand up and come together and listen to the victims of gun crime and make urgent reforms. With 30 people being killed each day by guns, action need to be taken today and not tomorrow."

The family left behind when a loved one is killed can face serious financial troubles. They are left with the problems of paying for a funeral and other long-term financial concerns. Some people have been forced to sell their homes when a member of the family has been killed, and Robert wants to limit these financial problems.

The funds raised will be used to help with funeral costs and will also be used to help support Adam's and Alison scholarship fund that is already established.
