The recently built Kansas City Chiefs Arrowhead Stadium Arrowhead Art Collection received support from Lamar Hunt Jr. and the Hunt Family Foundation.

Kansas City, MO -- (SBWire) -- 09/16/2015 --Lamar Hunt Jr. and the Hunt Family Foundation with the Kansas City Chief Art Council recently helped plan and install an art collection to celebrate regional art and offer educational opportunities within the Arrowhead Stadium. The art installation is now running a program for children 8-12 with an informative tour that parallels the Common Core educational requirements of Kansas.

Artists from the surrounding area were encouraged to submit work to the Arrowhead Art Collection after the Arrowhead Stadium renovation in 2010. Considered pieces of artwork came from: Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma and Arkansas. The committee assigned to consider the artwork spent two years assembling the collection of work, selecting pieces from 26 individual artists.

The current art installation of the Arrowhead Art Collection was made possible by the Lamar Hunt Jr. and the Hunt Family. The family is still involved with the program with Lamar Hunt's daughter, Sharron Hunt currently Chairwoman of the program.

Additional future installations are planned, adding more regional artwork to the 30 pieces currently on display at the Arrowhead Stadium.
