Lamar Hunt Jr. Featured on Kansas City Week in Review

Lamar Hunt Jr. and Independence Mayor Eileen Weir were recently featured on KCPT's Kansas City Week In Review. Lamar Hunt Jr. discussed his ECHL team the Missouri Mavericks and the re-branding of the Independence Events Center.

Weird and Hunt were featured on the show to discuss the recently renamed Independence Events Center, now known as the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. Lamar Hunt Jr. also discussed the purchase of his ECHL team and the future of the Missouri Mavericks hockey in Kansas City.

The Silverstein Eye Centers Arena was announced as the new name for the Missouri Mavericks home center arena in a press conference held September 30th. Located 25 minutes from downtown Kansas City, the arena features the Centerpoint Community Ice and expects to see over 500,000 people visit the arena this year. The 5,800 seat arena features entertainment events, sports games, and is open for private rentals with a full service concession stand and pro skate shop.

The Missouri Mavericks will play the Wichita Thunder for their first home game of the season at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena on Saturday, October 24th at 7:05 pm.
