Columbus, OH -- (SBWire) -- 10/15/2015 --When the members of Fox Valley Harvest (FVH) handed the Avett Brothers a Deering banjo to sign as a grand prize for their raffle benefiting pediatric cancer research and treatment at Nationwide Children's Hospital, it was an awe inspiring moment.

"I am especially humbled by the time that the Avett Brothers spent with us," said Mark Hixson of FVH. "They are a fantastic band at the top of their game, selling out venues all over the world and they took the time to meet with us and champion this cause."

The support of the Avett Brothers inspired the band to reach out to other musicians at national and local levels. To be offered as runner up prizes, signed merchandise donations from Alabama Shakes, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Bela Fleck, Abigail Washburn, Ramblin Jack Elliot, Nell Robinson, The Infamous Stringdusters, Dale Ann Bradley, Mountain Heart, and the Wayfarers were received by Fox Valley Harvest.

Motivated by Halie Crawford (daughter of Bob Crawford of the Avett Brothers) and her brave battle with brain tumors, the band wanted to find a way to serve a great organization and promote an appreciation for music at the same time.

"The support we have received from artists across multiple genres, generations, and stages in their career is overwhelming," said Scott Maruskin of FVH. "It is further validation we are supporting an excellent cause that affects everyone, not just the people of central Ohio."

Fox Valley Harvest will perform at the A&R Bar on October 24th and conduct the raffle drawing. Raffle tickets are $5 and winners need not be present. Tickets and Fox Valley Harvest's album are available online at www.foxvalleyharvest.com and at the event.
