National Open University of Nigeria Announces New Admission for 2015-16 Sessions

Port Harcourt, Rivers State -- (SBWire) -- 11/24/2015 --The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has recently announced the start of admission for the session 2015-16. As per the university's official release "New admission has commenced for Certificate, Diploma, Undergraduate, Post-graduate Diploma, Masters' Degree, and PhD, courses for the 2015 academic session." Interested students have been informed to obtain application forms for any of the programmes.

The official communiqué also added that the whole admission process will be online and that new applicants need to visit any of the University's participating banks to deposit the amount for the application form.

Besides, the official website of NOUN has also declared the available programmes under the university. All the courses have been categorized under their respective schools which include the School of Arts and Social Sciences, School of Agricultural Sciences, School of Education, School of Health Sciences, School of Law, School of Management Sciences, School of Science and Technology, and Centre for Lifelong Learning. One of the university admission staff stated, "Programme codes are provided for each course which can be entered while filling up the admission forms for the selected course of study."

He informed again, "Altogether there are more than 90 courses to select from for undergoing diploma, certificate, under-graduate or post-graduate studies under NOUN."

Along with the announcement for new admission NOUN has also revealed admission requirements for the opted course of study. For this the registrar has mentioned specific eligibility criteria for every programme. For some courses the university has offered concessionary admission which will act as a respite for some interested entrants. Disclosing about the duration of the programmes the registrar stated, "Our University operates a flexible mode of study which means that we allow our students to determine how the courses should progress." He also informed that students can avail support facilities through study centres which are spread all across the country.
