Nelson, Lancashire -- (SBWire) -- 12/17/2015 --An EU Commission meeting on the 2ndDecember has resulted in new packaging recycling targets. The move is apparently intended to streamline the process and work towards greater sustainability – as excessive product packaging is one of the key components of landfill every year.

The Commission put forward packaging recycling targets which are staggered - aiming for 65% by 2025 and 75% by 2030. It is expected that this will provide an important incentive for retail businesses to make more informed packaging choices. The Commission's decision has raised the publicity of sustainable, efficient packaging further – and therefore many customers will now be expecting a level of sustainability too.
