Jeremy Paxman Confirms His Appearance at the FPA Environment Seminar: UWrap Comments

Blackpool, Lancashire -- (SBWire) -- 12/22/2015 --It appears that growing numbers of high-profile individuals are getting involved in promoting positive sustainable packaging, especially in the food industry. This could be seen as driven by concerns both for the environment and upholding cost-effectiveness for businesses. One of the most recent announcements is that Jeremy Paxman is set to speak at the Food PackagingAssociationEnvironment seminar, where he will be upholding his position as patron for Clean Up Britain.

The increased focus on sustainable packaging and managing related waste is important. A number of businesses have also responded to the growing emphasis on keeping packaging streamlined and efficient, rather than bulky and wasteful.

The seminar is set to take place at the St John's Hotel in Solihull on the 21st January in the New Year. This also emphasizes that 2016 is set to be a year of even more intensity around sustainable packaging – especially as following on from the G20 climate talks in Paris. It is expected that areas of discussion will include the efficiency of food packaging and the promotion of recycling.

Other speakers expected at the event include Helen McFarlane from McDonald's UK Environment Team and also the chief executive of Keep Scotland Beautiful, Derek Robertson. Therefore there are big expectations and much excitement in the industry, on which UWrap, a shrink wrap packaging expert, was keen to comment:

"That such high profile individuals are getting involved in promoting sustainable packaging is a good thing. We advocate the sustainable and proper use of all our shrink wrapping equipment; for example the use of recycled plastics and applying a super-tight seal. The ability for shrink wrap to deliver an air-tight seal keeps food fresher for longer which is an environmental advantage, but also cuts down on plastic use too."
