Wettest December Since Records Began Results in New Year Clean-Up for Businesses

Coleford, Gloucestershire -- (SBWire) -- 01/25/2016 --The Met Office has recently released figures highlighting that December 2015 was the wettest month in the UK since 1910: the time when such records began. The month was filled with flood warnings and a number of storms, now named as Desmond, Eva and Frank. Strong winds and high levels of rain characterized much of the conditions, leading to widespread flooding. Badly hit areas in particular included West Yorkshire, the city of York and across the Lake District. Now December is over and the New Year begins, attention turns to the clean-up operation, with a number of businesses having to either reconstruct or move premises in order to address flood damage.

Many businesses have been affected by the floods, with the effects increasingly evident as the month of January opens for trade. Particularly baldy hit were office areas such as in the city of York, which not only flooded but sustained considerable damage to their equipment as a result; with electricals such as computers and telephones obviously spoiled. In turn, a number of new businesses are now seeking accommodation or facilities to serve them until repairs are done to their existing premises. Fortunately a number of services have been quick to respond to this, including Insite Portable Accommodation.

A spokesperson had this to say:

"Firstly, we want to express our condolences to everyone affected by the terrible floods. Here at Insite Portable Accommodation that's why we are passionate about providing a range of temporary buildings – whether you need a temporary office space or a portable canteen. Having a flexible working space matters at times of repair or moving, whether you have been affected by flooding or not, and this is something we strive to provide. In the New Year a number of businesses undertake property moves and refurbishment anyway and we help to provide for this with our portable structures."
