What the Future Holds for Samsung Pay and Its Plans of Expansion in 2016

Roswell, GA -- (SBWire) -- 01/29/2016 --Mobile payments have become more and more popular each year. The trend started when Apple decided to introduced the first mobile wallet app, Apple pay. Since then, all the dominant companies in the mobile industry have introduced a way to pay using a phone. Just as other manufacturers, Samsung limits this feature to the most advanced and latest models of phones. Nevertheless, Samsung is planning to change this situation.

When Samsung Pay was first launched in South Korea, it was only available for the latest Samsung models. This being said,a customer were only able to use Samsung Pay with models such as the Galaxy Note 5 or the Galaxy S6 Edge. This resulted in being pretty inconvenient for Samsung users, as most some people were not willing to buy those giant phones in order to be able to pay with their phones. For said reason, Samsung has decided to release Samsung Pay for older phone models as well. Samsung has yet to reveal which phones will be able to adapt this feature.

This is definitely a huge leap when compared to Apple Pay. Reason being, is because Apple only provides this feature for users with the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s. Another addition Samsung Pay is planning to introduce, is the ability to use this function in a wider range of countries. This certainly is a huge improvement considering the immense amount of Samsung users outside of the US who want to use Samsung Pay but can´t because of location.

This is definitely something that Apple needs to do, as only a handful of people in the world are able to use Apple pay. Even so, Samsung would still have a slight advantage over Apple. The reason behind this lies on the fact that Samsung Pay does not require the use of Near Field Communication to process payments. This means it enables users to pay for transactions with most point of sale systems out there.

It is pretty obvious that in the following years almost every phone in the market will enable users to pay using their phones. It is predicted that this function will not only be available in the US, but more used globally as well. It is pretty evident that mobile transactions are still in their most primitive stage and still need much improvement. Nevertheless, companies are focusing a lot on improving their systems, so it is likely to see them functioning perfectly in a couple of years.
