Rekall Alters the Face of Emergency Situations in an Innovative Way

Dallas, TX -- (SBWire) -- 02/03/2016 --Selected and Trusted Loved Ones Can Access Vital Personal Information in the Event of an Emergency. ReKall was developed largely in response to the challenging aftermath created when a good friend and team member experienced a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

In July of 2014, Kevin Cutler, a healthy and active 33 year old had a blood vessel in his brain unexpectedly burst, suffering from a Brain AVM (arteriovenous malformation). This left him incapacitated and created a state of extreme crisis and high anxiety for his immediate family and close friends. Adding to the hardship of the medical emergency itself was the impact to Kevin's recent relocation to Dallas, Texas from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Much of his critical information was physically out of reach, including relevant information from physicians, employers, family, and close friends. "Questions kept flying at us, yet the more they asked the less we knew, and I just wished there was more I could do. I just felt helpless," said ReKall co-founder Oscar Villarreal. The lack of information about Kevin's life in Dallas made an already trying and emotional situation even more difficult. Those trying to care for him found themselves scrambling to make critical decisions with limited information and so many unanswered questions.

As you can imagine, doctors had questions, family members had questions, co-workers had questions...but no one had the answers. To say the least, piecing together Kevin's life puzzle was extremely challenging and intensified an already stressful situation. Even with a tremendous team of loved ones by his side, no one knew the simplest of things, such as how to contact his job, access his apartment, or even pay the most basic of bills.

It was during Kevin's recovery that co-founders Oscar Villarreal and Jake Istnick decided to develop a program that can eliminate these struggles from future families and loved ones faced with similar situations. "We knew Kevin so well, but knew so little about how to manage his life," said Jake.

The frustration of lacking personal and professional information during such an stressful, anxious and nerve wracking moment in life is what ultimately inspired Rekall – a secure platform that allows you to give information and direction to friends and family in the event something happens to you.
