Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWire) -- 02/15/2016 --On Saturday, February 20, the Manayunk neighborhood will be overcome with the colorful costumes and joyous sounds of the Philadelphia Mummers Parade! Residents and visitors will get a chance to experience the fine Mummers of the String Band Association, who will be playing live music as they march down Main Street. ADVENT, the advertising, events, and entertainment agency, once again produced the iconic event in conjunction with the Manayunk Development Corporation (MDC) to help preserve and promote the Mummers' tradition.

Mummers Mardi Gras 2016 will be a family-oriented celebration with the parade beginning at 11am and all-day activities occurring until 6pm. The rain date is set for February 27, and all proceeds of the vibrant festivity will go towards keeping the Mummers tradition alive in Philadelphia, as well as charitable causes. Families looking for fun things to do in Manayunk should save the date as they won't want to miss out on photo-ops, live performances, great food, photo booths, face painting, and more!

All 17 Mummer string bands of the association are set to perform, including the Aqua String Band, Hegeman String Band, Broomall String Band, Duffy String Band, Trilby String Band, and the Uptown String Band. Clubhouse after parties will take place at various bars and restaurants along the length of Main Street, where Mummer meet and greets are to be held.
