Shenzhen, Guangdong -- (SBWire) -- 06/05/2016 --Apple is reported to ditch the 16GB storage in new iPhone 7 series. The new iPhone 7, expected to be released in September, is said to come with a minimum storage capacity of 32GB and a maximum storage capacity of 256GB.

According to Kevin Wang, an analyst at IHS Technology in China who posted on Chinese social media site Weibo this week that the iPhone 7 would feature 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage as a minimum. Mr. Wang previously has provided some genuine information about Apple products, leading many people to believe the latest leak is also genuine.

In fact, Apple has been faced with users' criticisms and complaints in the past because its relatively inexpensive and more popular entry-level 16GB iPhone simply did not have adequate storage capacity to satisfy iPhone users' daily needs.

The 16GB iPhone quickly become full of photos, music, videos, apps, and other files, especially when Apple recently introduced new features on the iPhone 6s that used large amounts of storage, such as 4K video recording or Live Photos. And iPhone users have to take some measures to free up storage space on their iPhone if they want to continue to use the 16GB iPhone.

And another report from TrendForce on Wednesday is that Apple apparently plans to offer a 256GB capacity for new iPhone 7 series. While TrendForce believes the 256GB storage is a certainty, the rest of the capacity options may not yet be finalized. Wednesday's report indicated that Apple is still unsure whether to discontinue the 64GB capacity and replace it with the 128GB version.

Apart from the issue of iPhone storage, Tech Insider also reported that the iPhone 7 was to look "nearly identical to the iPhone 6 generation with redesigned antenna lines that are less visible". The larger Plus model was said to come with a dual camera, while the regular-sized model would likely have an updated single camera.

If Apple follows the same cycle as it used for iPhone 5 and 5S, 5C, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, iPhone 6S , the release date of iPhone 7 may fall sometimes in September 2016. Therefore, people still have to wait for some time to ensure whether Apple ditch the 16GB iPhone.
