Nurses who work in this department of the hospital are essentially caregivers who assume responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designed time frame, providing these patients with therapeutic use of self, nursing interventions, treatments, modalities, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Those who are hired into this position must demonstrate knowledge, professional accountability and adherence to DNV Healthcare, federal and state regulations.

The staff RN, Registered nurse actively participates in and encourages teamwork to provide patient-focused care in accordance with the mission and values of Oklahoma Heart Hospital. There are numerous requirements that those who are interested in this position will need to know about before applying, including being a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Those who want to work in the Critical Care Unit of this hospital must also be a registered nurse with current Oklahoma licensure. Current BLS certification is required at the time of hire, and ACLS certification within 18 months of hire. A minimum of 1 year of continuous experience in a telemetry or related cardiac clinical setting is preferred. Those who apply for this position must be able to provide direct care to patients in both the stable and acute care settings.
