Shenzhen, Guangdong -- (SBWire) -- 07/31/2016 --Apple has always been focusing on iPhone security issues with in-time investigation and patches. Very recently, Apple has send urgent messages to iPhone owners to download the latest iOS update. The new update - iOS 9.3.3 on iPhones and iPads, as well as OS X 10.11.6 for computers, tvOS 9.2.2 for Apple TV and watchOS 2.2.2, patches a security flaw of *.tiff image virus hole that could let a hacker steal everything from iPhone users, including password.

"For our customers' protection, Apple doesn't disclose, discuss, or confirm security issues until an investigation has occurred and patches or releases are available," said Apple on its security update page. With *.tiff image virus hole being confirmed and solutions ready, the iOS 9.3.3 update comes out urgently.

iPhone users frequently use iMessage or email to send photos to friends or family members. Some iPhone users may even make photo slideshow with photos received via iMessage and email. However, this might get iPhone hacked.

Known to all, iMessage and Safari on iPhone and iPad would automatically render an "image" as soon as it is received. They can't tell whether the received file is real image or virus. Therefore, previously, before this iOS update, some iPhones would be compromised when they receive an infected iMessage or e-mail that contains a bad *.tiff image file, which contains a code that gives hackers access to everything stored on iPhone, like password. Since iMessage and Safari automatically render an "image" as soon as it is received, iPhones would get hacked even without authority of downloading the bad *.tiff image file.

There is actually a solution preset to prevent hack from iPhone and iPad. iOS device users could turn off iMessage and disable MMS messaging. This would forbid iMessage and MMS to download any image, malicious or not. However, this solution would dissatisfy people since they couldn't download non-virus images any more.

In this iOS 9.3.3 update, Apple has successfully solved this issue for iPhone and iPad. This update is also applicable for OS X 10.11.6 for computers, tvOS 9.2.2 for Apple TV and watchOS 2.2.2. Since malware on Apple devices has been a specific and direct threat to financial security, Apple has called this date a vital update every iPhone/iPad user shouldn't ignore.
