Birla Academy of Art & Culture Organized the Screening of the Documentary "Folk Theatre of Bengal"

Dealing with the flimsy and fragile existence of the theatre groups in rural Bengal, Birla Academy of Art & Culture hosted the screening of a very touching documentary.

The script and direction of the documentary film has been given by Ashoke Vishwanathan and had duration of 55 minutes. As the subject of the film goes, this documentary highlights several nuances of the rural theatre, its play characterization, depicting of various philosophy and the like. The subject matter was rich and has earned much appreciation and accolades from the audience. Also, this documentary has also got selected for the Indian Panorama at the International Film Festival of India.
