They also provide value-added services such as local area network (LAN) services, internet access, and data transmission. There are three types of VSAT transmissions: time division multiple access (TDMA), demand assigned multiple access (DAMA), and single channel per carrier (SCPC)/ multiple channels per carrier (MCPC).
